Florent Rivard has been starting colts since he was 13 and race horses for the past 16 years. Combining natural horsemanship with years of experience, Florent specializes in corrective horse training.

  Whether it's trailer loading, halter breaking, preparing for the farrier, starting gates, rearing, bucking, or any other difficulties, Florent takes on any challenging horse and turns them into a willing partner.

  For barrel racers, Janeen Rivard offers individual instruction for both horse and rider.

Trainer Bios

  Florent Rivard has ridden and trained over 700 horses in his 33 year career as a horse trainer. He specializes in problem horses along with starting youngsters, and is well recognized for his abilities therein. Having lived near Assiniboia Downs Racetrack in Winnipeg nearly all of his life, Florent has worked extensively with Thoroughbred and running Quarter Horses from the track in addition to pleasure, show and performance horses.

  Janeen Rivard was raised in a horse show family and has several years of handling and showing experience under her belt. In recent years, barrel racing has become her passion, as is breeding and raising horses for this event. The Rivards have added some pretty powerful barrel racing performance bloodlines into their breeding program - so please have a look at the sale horses and stallions standing at stud if this rapidly growing speed event interests you!
